Key Differences Between GTA V Legacy and GTA V Enhanced

The primary reason for the “Legacy” designation is to distinguish the original 2015 PC release from the 2025 “Enhanced” version, which brought features from the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions to PC.
Graphics & Performance: The Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced version features ray-traced reflections, shadows, global illumination, and support for NVIDIA DLSS 3 and AMD FSR 3. Grand Theft Auto V Legacy retains the original decade-old visuals and standard texture quality.
New Content: The Enhanced version includes exclusive content such as Hao’s Special Works (HSW) vehicle upgrades, animals in GTA Online, and career builder tools.
Social Features: A notable difference cited by users on Reddit and YouTube is that the Legacy version retains text chat in GTA Online lobbies, whereas the Enhanced version on PC reportedly lacks this feature in favor of voice chat.
Modding Support: As of March 2026, many veteran players still prefer Grand Theft Auto V Legacy for modding, as the extensive library of existing mods (like LSPDFR and OpenIV tools) is more stable on this older version.
